Stephen runs for TAC to take care of taxpayers

Valerie Stephen is facing off against Niki McInroe-Cognburn in the Republican Primary Runoff for Tax Assessor Collector in the Tuesday, May 28 election. If elected, she wants to make sure the taxpayers are effectively taken care of and work to modernize the office.

Pool opens with new rules

Splishing and splashing will officially be available Saturday as the Dublin City Pool opens for the season Saturday, May 25. Pool hours are Tuesday noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

40+ yard sales this weekend

Bargains will abound this weekend as the annual City-Wide Garage Sale commences. As of Monday evening, 39 sales have registered to be included on the map (featured on page A4).

Graduations set for Friday

Hats will take to the air Friday, May 24 as both Dublin High School and Lingleville High School Seniors walk across the stage in commencement ceremonies. For Dublin, graduation will take place at 7 p.m.

Tons of trash

The city of Dublin in conjunction with Waste Connections held its annual city-wide clean up event Saturday, May 11. During the event 38 tons of trash was collected (2 trash trucks and 5 roll offs) and 1.9 tons of metal (2 roll offs full). 24 volunteers aided in the event with 11 of them being city employees who volunteered. City staff stated they were pleased with the turnout and it was the largest event since COVID.

A reporting person advised her disabled son has been missing since last Thursday. Officer made contact with the son’s friend in Stephenville that he works with.

Summer Reading Club kickoff Saturday

The Dublin Public Library will be hosting its kickoff event for Summer Reading Club at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18 with a ribbon cutting and open house to showcase the newly renovated interior, funded by Tocker Foundation, the city of Dublin and STAR Council.

Thursday Club elects new officers

The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club gathered for their last meeting of the 2023-24 study cycle Thursday, May 9. Rain threatened as members arrived just ahead of heavy rain and brief hail.
