Dublin Police, volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel were dispatched to a house on North Clinton at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Sunday after a vehicle reportedly crashed into the front of it.

Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray reported a red Kia was traveling southbound on Preston at what was determined to be an excessive rate of speed for unknown reasons. The vehicle reportedly crossed North Clinton into the yard of the house facing Preston Lane.

Chief Ray reported the estimated rate of travel was approximately 60 miles per hour.

Preliminary investigation determined the vehicle struck a metal marker in the front yard and passed over a raised bed before running into the front left side of the house and tearing a hole in the exterior wall of the brick.

The driver was quickly transported to Texas Health Resources Harris Methodist hospital by ambulance where they were treated for injuries and released.

Ray reported there were no other occupants in the vehicle and that there were no injuries of anyone inside the house.

Dublin Volunteer firefighters were able to seal up the house so the homeowners were able to stay in the residence.

This was made more difficult by the discovery of a ground hornets nest near the site of the accident that had to be dealt with before the wall could be covered.
